The length and weight of the handle feel great in the hand and the head of the razor features a scalloped closed comb for extra comfort. Unboxing the King C Gillette Double Edge Razor
The box I received from Amazon was very sturdy. It is something you could expect to find on a shelf in a brick-and-mortar store. The front of the box displays the razor, while the sides and back of the box have more information about it and the company.
When you open the box you are presented with the razor itself front and center with a 5-pack of blades sitting under it.
The Gillette safety razor has a beautiful shine and a very unique handle design.
Taking a closer look at the handle you will notice that it’s bulkier than most safety razors. This added bulk actually made it feel perfect in my hand while I shaved.
The head of the razor features a scalloped closed comb for added comfort and a tasteful logo stamped on the top.
The Gillette safety razor is a 3-piece safety razor and features a slotted plate for easier rinsing.
Shaving with the Gillette Safety Razor
One of the major things that I look for in a safety razor is comfort. My skin is prone to irritation and bleeding after shaving and my hair is very coarse and requires a good blade to get the job done. This being said, the Gillette safety razor did a fantastic job of fitting my needs.
The included Gillette blade was mild yet super effective at easily cutting through my thick facial hair. The bulky handle had the perfect grip and weight as well. The razor gave me one of the fastest and most comfortable shaves of all the safety razors I have previously reviewed. While extremely functional, the razor also has an extremely sleek and attractive design. The stainless steel design had a great shine and the unique handle design looked and felt great.
My Impression Using the Included Gillette Safety Razor Blades
For the most part, replacement safety razor blades I’ve gotten from ordering new razors have been mostly low quality. I tend to opt for Astra Superior Platinum blades for my everyday shave. However, I was a bit set back with the quality of the replacement blades that came with the Gillette. As mentioned in the previous section, the blades were mild and comfortable but had the perfect amount of aggressiveness to cut through my thick hair. If you’ve never tried Gillette safety razor blades and are looking for that perfectly balanced shave, I’d highly recommend giving them a try.

The King C Gillette Safety Razor truly lives up to its name and blew me away with how well it performed. The overall design of the razor itself is gorgeous yet functions perfectly for sensitive skin and thick coarse beard hair like mine. A bonus was being able to try out the Gillette replacement safety razor blades for the first time. The blades performed exceptionally well and have made me consider making a switch next time I am in the market for replacements. Overall, I would highly recommend the Gillette safety razor and replacement blades to anyone looking for a comfortably smooth shave regardless of skill level and skin type.
