When it comes to electric shavers, the Braun Series 7 is one of the most popular and highly-rated models available. In this review, we’ll take a close look at what makes the Braun Series 7 foil shaver stand out from the competition, including its key features, unboxing, replacement head, and pros and cons.
Or, if you’d rather get straight to the point:
I found the Braun Series 7 shaver to be among my favorites. The Series 7 shaver has everything you could want from an electric shaver in one perfect package. Including a charging/ cleaning base, precision clipper attachment with different size attachments, an innovative shaving head design, and a nifty travel case, the Series 7 stands above its competitors as being a very high-end shaver.
I put my Series 7 to the test on my thick coarse beard hair after four days of growth. The shaving head of the Braun S7 performed very well at not only cutting the hair but getting all the way down to the skin. I will also note that the design of the head makes use of both foils as well as a wavy center mesh to capture even the stubbornest curled hairs on my neck. After a quick 10-minute shave I was left with my face feeling as smooth as shaving with a bladed razor, just minus all the irritation.

Overview of the Braun Series 7 Foil Shaver
The Braun Series 7 foil shaver is designed to provide a close and comfortable shave, both wet and dry. It features auto-sense technology and three flexible foil-type cutting elements that sense hair density and work together to remove hair efficiently without irritating the skin. The shaver’s flexible head adapts to the contours of the face, making it easier to reach difficult areas. Additionally, the Braun Series 7 foil shaver is completely waterproof, allowing it to be used in the shower or with your favorite shaving cream, gel, or soap.
The Braun Series 7 foil shaver comes in several different models, each with slightly different features. For example, the 7085cc model (the one I’m reviewing) comes with a cleaning and charging station, while other models have different attachments and applications such as shaving sensitive skin.
Unboxing the Braun S7
The Series 7 box was much larger than I expected and about 3 times the size of the box my Andis Profoil came in. I soon found out that this shaver came with a bunch of goodies, so the big box made sense.
The S7 comes with an assortment of different-sized clipper heads for trimming your beard or eyebrows to perfection.
The trimmer attachment is solid, very well made, and easily swapped with the main foil cutting head.
The cleaning and charging dock is large enough to comfortably hold and showcase the S7. The slight slant of the dock is nice aesthetically, but more than likely serves a purpose to help it get clean.
The electric shaver also came with a very nice carrying case, perfect for travel or bringing the S7 on the go.
The S7 itself has a very attractive finish, featuring a black rubber grip and shiny plastic around the edges.
The main shaving head of the Series 7 is what makes this shaver shine. The inner comb of the head allows it to easily cut down long hair, while the outer foils get down to the skin to give a smooth clean shave.
Lastly, the display on the S7 is very functional as it has a battery level and 4 other indicators. There is an indicator for the travel lock, charge needed, moisture, and head replacement needed.
Braun Series 7 Replacement Head
Using a replacement head is an essential part of maintaining the Braun Series 7 foil shaver‘s performance over time. The replacement heads for the Braun Series 7 are advertised to last up to a year and a half before needing to be replaced. The replacement head is super easy to change as they pop right off the unit and are all in one piece.
When it’s time to replace the head, the shaver will automatically display a warning light (see images above for a close-up of the display).
