Bevel is a brand of shaving products that focuses primarily on the shave care needs of African American men. While I am not African American, I do frequently suffer from ingrown hairs, irritation, and shave bumps because I have coarse black facial hair. On the Bevel website, they claim that their safety razor will reduce the occurrence of these issues and give an overall better shave entirely.
With this in mind, I decided to purchase a Bevel safety razor myself and see how it stacked up to others I have tried and reviewed. I purchased my Bevel safety razor from Amazon and am not affiliated with Bevel.
Getting straight to the point, the Bevel safety razor was not my favorite nor my least favorite safety razor. The razor itself performed pretty decently and cut through my thick facial hair with ease. The blades that were included with the razor were okay, but I prefer my Astra Platinum. A shining point for this safety razor was its build quality and sleek and clean look. The only major thing I disliked about the Bevel was it gave me some minor razor burn. With all this being said, the Bevel performed great and met all of my expectations. I wasn’t entirely blown away, however.

Unboxing The Bevel
The box of the Bevel is very clean and displays a full-size image of the razor on the front. There is also other information about the brand and product on the sides and back of the package.
When unpacking the box, you will find an official Bevel shave guide, a pack of Bevel razor blades, and the Bevel razor itself.
The Bevel is made of solid metal and the handle has a nice grip and weight to it. You can also see that the plate is slotted for easy rinsing, a nice feature.
The razor is a 3-piece style safety razor and all the parts came apart easily.
Shaving with The Bevel Safety Razor
Shaving with the Bevel reminded me a lot of shaving with the Plow 2.0. The build of both razors is almost identical and the handles feel almost the same. The Bevel, however, shaved a bit differently than the Plow.
The Bevel has a nice weight to it that makes it pretty effortless to shave. Rinsing was also easy as expected due to the slots in the plate. The blade sits inside of the razor level and is a bit on the aggressive side. I didn’t like the replacement blades that came with the razor and my Astra Platinum blades performed better when I tried them.
While I did get a good shave, the Bevel irritated my neck more than other razors I’ve tried. I did notice that it cut super close to the skin, which might explain the irritation.
What’s to Like About Bevel’s Safety Razor

Overall Impression
The Bevel is not my favorite nor my least favorite safety razor that I’ve tried. It shared some great features with other great razors. The slotted head plate makes rinsing easy and the weighted handle made shaving effortless. The razor is made from high-quality materials and is overall solid and sleek.
While I did get some minor irritation on my neck from the Bevel, I mainly blame the replacement blades that were included. When I switched to my preferred brand of replacement blade there was a big difference in shave quality. Overall if you are in the market for an aggressive razor that cuts super close and reduces shave bumps and ingrown hairs, the Bevel might be a good fit for you.
